Agnus for Weyerhaeuser

The Agnus bench is a response to Weyerhaeuser’s desire to bring their construction material, Parallam, into the realm of furniture. In the past, Parallam was primarily used for beams or columns in the construction of a home. Agnus reexamines this heavy duty material by drawing out its warmth and softness for a cozy outdoor bench. The sheepskin cover was inspired by outdoor cafe tables in Copenhagen’s Indre By district, where fur throws hang on chairs to keep patrons warm in chilly weather. The form of the bench takes cues from the sheepskin, evoking the sweetness of a lamb’s back.
